Norma “Jean” Hall, a beloved mother, grandmother, and dedicated community member, passed away peacefully at home on October 8, 2026. Born on March 18, 1939, in Richmond, VA, Jean was the cherished daughter of Lee and Willie Linkous.
Jean was a spiritual soul whose life was marked by love, dedication, and a passion for bringing joy to others. She married George “Tommy” Hall Sr. in May 1965 in Richmond, VA. Though their marriage ended in 1983, Jean never remarried, choosing instead to focus her love and energy on her family and community.
Jean was a proud high school graduate who worked diligently throughout her life. She began her career as a cashier at Food Giant in Cumming, GA, where her hard work and commitment to excellence earned her the position of front-end manager. She later took on the same role at Food Center in Cumming, before finishing her career at Lowe’s Home Improvement in Johns Creek, where she was admired by colleagues and customers alike.
Her love of life extended beyond her professional achievements. Jean had a passion for gambling, particularly enjoying her trips to casinos. In her early years, she was actively involved with the American Legion Auxiliary, mainly at Post 201 in Alpharetta, GA, where her leadership and dedication shone brightly as she became Auxiliary President. Her commitment to service and her vibrant personality left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her.
Jean’s greatest joy in life was her family. She is survived by her devoted only child, Tommy Hall, Wendy Hall (daughter-in-law), and her treasured grandson, Bailey Hall. She was preceded in death by her brother, Stanley Linkous and her sister Brenda Norwood. Her family, friends, and all who knew her will forever remember her warmth, humor, and unwavering love.
A Visitation to celebrate Jean’s life will be held Thursday, October 15, 2026, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ingram Funeral Home, located at 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, GA. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance and honor of a well-lived life.
In lieu of flowers, please donate in Jean’s memory to the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, an organization she held dear. Her legacy of kindness and generosity will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
