Patti Wilkie Carroll left this world for her heavenly home on November 7, 2025. She was born on December 19, 1960, to Warren G. and Mildred Castleberry of Cumming, Georgia.
A graduate of Forsyth County High School, Patti went on to attend Atlanta Medical College, where she earned her nursing degree. She worked for various OB/GYN physicians in the Atlanta and Alpharetta areas before joining Dr. Wendell Phillips, with whom she spent the majority of her career. Being a nurse came naturally to Patti—her nurturing heart and selfless nature made her a comfort to all who knew her. Later in life, she shared her compassionate care with patients at Northside Hospital and as a school nurse for Head Start Pre-K in Dahlonega, Georgia.
Patti was a devoted wife to Ray, a loving mother to Christa and Carlee, a proud sister to six brothers and three sisters, and a joyful Mimi to Vada, Camille, and Kate. Her greatest joy was time spent with family, and she always placed their needs above her own. Patti loved life’s simple pleasures—afternoon drives through the mountains, spending time in her “tree house”, spotting wildlife in nature and feeding deer from her patio, finding rainbows and watching sunsets, watching The Andy Griffith Show, Little House on the Prairie, or Hallmark Christmas movies, family cruises, and the occasional Dairy Queen ice cream for dinner. Her kindness, laughter, beautiful smile, and gentle spirit touched countless lives and will be remembered forever.
Patti was preceded in death by her parents, Warren G. and Mildred Castleberry, and her brother, Tommy Castleberry. She is survived by her loving husband, Ray Carroll; daughters Christa (Glenn) Cliver and Carlee Wilkie; granddaughters Vada Wilkie, Camille Cliver, and Kate Cliver; siblings Phil Castleberry, Wanda Garner, Linda (Mikel) Evans, Donny (Beth) Castleberry, Buddy (Susan) Castleberry, Earl (Rita) Castleberry, Cecil (Gail) Castleberry, and Edna (Danny) Orr; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
The family will receive visitors on Thursday, November 13, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Ingram Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held on Friday, November 14, at 1:00 PM at Sawnee View Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Patti’s memory to Ninth District Opportunity, Inc.,P.O. Drawer L, Gainesville, GA 30503, to help support children in need.
