Philip Jefferson Heard, age 60, of Cumming, Georgia, passed away peacefully in his sleep on June 16, 2026, after an extended period of declining health. Born to Hugh Heard and Janice (Bramblett) Heard, Philip worked alongside his father as a home builder. However, his true passion was music, especially playing the drums. A lifelong musician and music enthusiast, he worked at Turtle's Records and Tapes, where he met the mother of his daughter. He later shared his love of music by teaching his daughter to play the drums as well. Philip was also a devoted fan of the Georgia Bulldogs, and on game days, much of Coal Mountain could hear him cheering them on.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Hugh and Janice Heard, and aunt Jan. He is survived by his daughter, Jessica (Graham); his brother, Greg (Lisa); his niece, Lindsay; his nephew, Matthew; his uncle, Phil; and countless friends and extended family members. The family would like to extend a special thank you to David, Wendell, Jan, Calvin, Steve, Robin, and Dwayne, along with the many others who helped Philip in so many ways throughout his life.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026, in the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Mark Wood officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the service hour at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to help offset funeral expenses. Ingram Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, Georgia 30040, is in charge of arrangements.
