Rachel Ruth Fowler Teems

Rachel Ruth Fowler Teems, age 79, of Colbert, Georgia, passed away on January 7, 2026.

Rachel was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was centered on love for her family. She was known for her caring heart, quiet strength, and the comfort she brought to those around her. She never met a stranger and was always loving and kind to all she met. Her home and her presence made others feel safe, welcomed, and deeply loved.

She is survived by her children: Monica Teems; Sheila Smith and husband David Smith; Larrie Lorene Teems; and Allen Teems and wife Kristy Teems. She is also survived by her grandchildren: David “Kitt” Smith and wife Melissa Smith, Catherine Kruger and husband Cody Kruger, Destiny Nichols, Oliver Pitman, and by her cherished great-granddaughter, Phoebe Smith.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Larry Teems; her daughter, Catherine Teems; and her sisters, Tine Frady and Ruby Poole.

A celebration of Rachel’s life will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Spirit on Sunday, January 18th at 3:00 p.m. All are invited to come and celebrate a life well lived.

Rachel will be remembered for her kindness, her dedication to her family, and the many ways she gave of herself throughout her life. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
