Randall Clinton Fields

Randall Clinton Fields, age 78, of Cumming, GA passed away Sunday morning, December 8, 2024 at Northside Hospital Atlanta.

Mr. Fields served in the U.S. Army from 1967 to 1969. His last tour was in Ulm, Germany as an E5 Sargent in charge of security of Warhead Persian missiles. He then married the love of his life, Sherry Roper on January 3, 1970 which would have made 55 years. He then later served with the Veterans Alliance. He was a devoted husband, daddy and Pop.

He retired from Sawnee EMC after 27 years of service. Randall was known for his gardening of tomatoes. He lived and worked with a purpose, making the most of every moment.

Mr. Fields was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He was a Deacon and Deacon Chairman for a total of 12 years.

Mr. Fields was preceded in death by his son, Chad; parents, Earlie and Audrey Fields; in-laws, Charles and Doris Roper; and brother-in-law, James Jett.

Survivors include his loving wife, Sherry; son, Corey (Gretta); brother, Amos (Cathy); sister, Nancy Jett; grandchildren, Mallory, Skylar (Tyler), Mackinsey (Kyle), Mattie (Owen) and Ethan; 5 great grandchildren with one on the way; brothers-in-law, Michael (Kathy) Roper, Larry Roper; sister-in-law, Becky (Bob) Bradley; several nieces, nephews and many friends and neighbors.

Services to honor the life of Mr. Fields will be held Thursday, December 12, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ricky Byrd, Rev. Bud Sutton, Rev. Wilson Pruitt, Rev. Carter Payne and Rev. Rudy Tribble officiating. Interment, with military honors, will follow at Sawnee View Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Thursday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
