Raymon Dee Eller was born on August 11, 1941, in Hiawassee, Georgia, to Floyd and Della Eller. He was the youngest of eight children, raised on the side of a mountain, where he learned the values of hard work, faith in God, and the power of patience. He graduated from high school in 1961.Shortly after graduation, Raymon answered a calling to ministry and became Reverend Raymon Eller. He traveled extensively, ministering throughout the Northwest and western states. While pastoring a church in Montana, he settled down and started a family. It was there that he became the proud father of Lori Jean Eller in 1969.Raymon later returned to his home state of Georgia with his family, where he began a long and dedicated career as a welder at Snapper, a position he held for 31 years. In 1985, he married Sharon Eller and lovingly embraced the role of father to her three daughters—Katrina, Gina, and Lara—whom he raised as his own. Throughout his life, Raymon remained deeply committed to serving others. He was a beloved church bus driver to hundreds of children, a faithful member of the choir, and a trusted usher. Steadfast and compassionate, Raymon stepped into many roles to share love, empathy, and service wherever he was needed. In 1997, Raymon found one of the greatest joys of his life when his first granddaughter, Emily Clegg, was born. From that moment on, he happily embraced his most treasured role—being a grandfather, lovingly known as “Papa.” He delighted in this role wholeheartedly, pouring his love, wisdom, and gentle presence into each of his grandchildren. Raymon is survived by many who felt his warmth and kindness throughout their lives. He is survived by his brother, Herman Eller; his beloved wife, Sharon Kay Eller, whom he adored deeply; and his daughters—Lori Eller; Katrina and her spouse, Jonathon Kittell; Gina Carr and her spouse, Edward Clay; and Lara Castillo and her spouse, August Adams. He also lovingly honored Jason Clegg and Eutiquio Castillo as sons, and Marcella as an honorary daughter. Together, Raymon and Sharon shared a beautiful and cherished collection of grandchildren who were dearly loved: Emily, Megan, Lillian, Eva and her spouse Dawson, Emma, Alex, Emma Grace, Mateo, Christopher, Azaria, MyChyla, Elizabeth, Carlo, and Luis. His granddaughter Eva gave him two great grandsons, Mason and Oliver. In addition, Raymon was blessed with many honorary children and grandchildren throughout his life, each touched by his unwavering love, kindness, and gentle spirit. His grandchildren revered him just as he deserved. His first granddaughter, Emily, shared, “He was the embodiment of ‘love your neighbor as yourself.’ He always met everyone where they were—with unconditional love and no judgment.” His granddaughter Megan wished to ensure that his devotion to his wife was remembered, simply and truly—oh, how he loved his wife. His granddaughter Emma shared, “My papa is the best man I’ve ever known. He’s devoted, kind, generous and always silly. I can always depend on him for anything. I’ll live the rest of my life grateful I got to be loved by him and love him. I’ll forever miss the small moments like plucking his ear hair and him cutting my nails or us eating cereal together. Him and grandma have always been my safe place, fly high papa. I love you.” Alex lovingly said, “He always had a joke on him, he was one of the funniest and most honorable men. I have the privilege of calling him my grandpa”. Raymon Dee Eller will be honored at Ingram’s Funeral Home in Cumming, Georgia on Friday, January 9, 2026. His family will receive visitors and well wishes starting at 11:00 am to 2:00 and then his service will be at 2:00 pm in the Chapel at Ingram’s.
