Rebecca Sharon Thompson

Rebecca Sharon Thompson, 72, of Alpharetta, GA passed away Wednesday, October 11, 2023 at her home. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Alpharetta and a devoted, loving sister, aunt and friend. She retired from teaching at Mimosa Elementary School in Roswell after 32 years of service. She is preceded in death by her mother, Dorcas McCleskey Thompson; father, Ralph Everett Thompson and brother, David Lanier Thompson.

Survivors include sisters, Rita (Jim) Thomas, Patrice (Jerry) Godby; nephews, Graham Thomas and Evin Godby; aunts, Margean Haney, Martha Lou Burruss, Vivian (Nathaniel) Hansard; uncle, P.J. (Nancy) McCleskey and many loving cousins

Her passing leaves a void in our hearts and she will be deeply missed by all.

Funeral services will be held Friday, October 20, at 3:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bud Sutton officiating. Entombment will follow at the Sawnee View Gardens Mausoleum.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Friday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

In lieu of Flowers, donations to the Fulton or Forsyth County Animal Shelters or the American Heart Association would be welcome.
