Rev. Harold Bottoms, 81, a lifelong resident of Forsyth County passed away Saturday, May 16, 2026. A member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, Harold was a well known pastor, having served a number of churches in the area and officiated many weddings, funerals and revivals.

Harold loved horses; riding, training and showing them over the years. He was retired from General Motors and a member and Past Master of Matt Lodge No. 694 F&AM where he served as Chaplain for many years and Past High Priest of Silver Shoals Chapter No. 14 Royal Arch Masons.

Survivors include his wife, Rose Mary Bottoms; daughter and son-in-law, Liz and Wayne Rouse; grandchildren, Aerial, Damian, Logan and Max Rouse; brother and sister-in-law, Tommy and Joan Bottoms; sisters, Martha Hammond, Mary Nolan; brother-in-law, Hank Rider; his favorite puppy, Cletus T. and a number of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 20, at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Tommy Estes, Rev. Paul Shadburn and Rev. Danny Gerrard officiating. Interment, with Masonic Rites, will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service.
