Richard Holden, beloved father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend, and servant of the Lord, peacefully passed away at home on October 8, 2026.
Richard was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 60 years, Lula Holden, whose love and companionship were the foundation of their family. He was also preceded in death by his parents, William Dan Holden and Anne Mae Holden, as well as several brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his devoted daughter, June and Robbie Tribble, and his son, Ricky and Robin Holden. He leaves behind cherished grandchildren, Stephen and Shannon Tribble, Shandi and Dylan Soles, and Daniel Holden. Richard was also blessed with great-grandchildren, Emerson and Chase Tribble and Macie and Holden Soles, who brought him tremendous joy and pride.
Richard leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, hard work, and service. He loved the outdoors and was happiest when surrounded by family, often found grilling enough food to feed a crowd at family gatherings and church events. His generous spirit and willingness to serve others made him a blessing to everyone who knew him.
A faithful Christian, Richard helped build Blessed Hope Baptist Church, where he recommitted his life to the Lord. He and Lula loved their church and church family deeply, finding great joy in worship, fellowship, and serving alongside their church community. His faith was evident not only in his words but in the way he lived and cared for others.
Richard's memory will forever live in the hearts of his family and friends, who will carry forward his legacy of love and devotion. As we celebrate his life, let us remember the countless ways he touched our lives and the profound impact he made on all who knew him.
Rest in peace, dear Richard. You will be deeply missed and never forgotten!
