Richard L. Knight

Richard L. Knight, 70, of Cumming passed away Sunday, August 13, 2017. A native of Grand Rapids, MI, Richard was a U.S. Navy veteran serving in Vietnam and a member of VFW Post 9143 where he had served as Post Commander. He held several state level positions in the VFW, serving as Adjutant, Junior Vice Commander, Senior Vice Commander and was slated to serve as State Commander prior to his illness. He retired from ATT after 30 years of service.

Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Barbara A. Knight; son, Richard M. Knight, both of Cumming; daughters, Colleen Cope and Julie (Jeff) Stromberg, both of Seattle, WA; sister, Susan (John) Kibele of Holland, MI; and 2 granddaughters.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, September 23, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends at the funeral home the hour prior to the service.
