Richard Lowell Kuykendall, known professionally as Dick and affectionately as Boogie, age 79, passed away on the morning of December 9th in Cumming, GA, his home since 1983. Boogie is survived by Joyce (French) his wife of 62 years; Larry, his son, Elke, his daughter-in-law, and Hannah, his granddaughter; Holli, his daughter, David, his son-in-law, and Patrick, his grandson; Jeanenne, his sister, and Roy, his brother-in-law; Jack, his brother, and Anne, his sister-in-law; and numerous other family members and friends. Boogie, a native of Atlanta, graduated from Brown High School (1954), where he met Joyce. He enjoyed a successful career with International Harvester and Freightliner Trucks, and he enjoyed an active retirement with travel, golf, family, and friends. Among too many experiences to list, Boogie drove from Georgia to Alaska with a fifth-wheel camper in tow, played a round of golf at The Old Course at St Andrews in Scotland, and sat outside and enjoyed the sun with his dog, Flee - all with Joyce, his travel companion, golfing partner, and best friend. Boogie was cherished by his friends at First Baptist Church of Cumming, and he cherished them just the same. A memorial service will be held for him at First Baptist Church of Cumming (1597 Sawnee Dr, Cumming, GA 30040) at 1:00PM on Sunday, December 13th.
