Richard “Dick” Staebell

Richard (Dick) Staebell, age 94, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2025, in Cumming, Georgia.He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Marilyn, and his brothers, Bob and Jerry. Born on February 26, 1931, in Canistota, South Dakota, he was the son of the late Joseph and Victoria (Dora) Staebell.Dick graduated from the University of Wisconsin and was a proud member of the Phi Kappa fraternity. He served honorably in the U.S. Army, stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri, during the Korean War.He enjoyed a successful career as a National Accounts Manager for the James River Paper Company.He will be deeply missed by his sister, Margaret Rigney, and his six children: Patti Staebell; Karen & Jim Thompson; Nancy & Gary Lewis; Jim & Wanda Staebell; Bill & Marie Staebell; and David & Sheila Staebell. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.Dick had a passion for golf, fixing things, and giving back through his volunteer work with Good Shepherd Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus.
