Bob Lilligren of Cumming, Georgia passed away on Friday August 1st at home after a brief illness. He was born on November 23, 1938 in Westerly RI to the late Frank H & Anna (Blasik) Lilligren. He spent his childhood in the village of Carolina. As a young boy he spent a great deal of time playing ball with his younger brother Richard, who is physically challenged with Cerebral Palsy, something he remembers fondly. At the age of 15 he was a captain in the Carolina Volunteer Fire Dept., and was instrumental in the building of their 1st Fire Station. After graduating High School he entered the Air Force and worked as an airplane mechanic. He was mostly stationed in Germany and was a star softball player for their team. Once discharged he worked for a local hardware store until he took a job, as a machinist, at Harris Corporation. He traveled the world installing and maintaining printing presses.

Bob was known for his incredible sense of humor and a twinkle in his eye when he was telling one of his tales. Notably, on a visit to Australia he entered the famous Opera house. He went to use the bathroom and started singing in there. Upon arriving home he told family and friends how he had actually got to sing at the Sydney Opera House.

Bob retired in 2000.

He was a man of great Faith and attended church and Bible study weekly. At the end of services he was known to wait on the steps for friends to trade stories and jokes. He enjoyed playing golf with his church friends, particularly, Danny Lowery. He enjoyed watching golf and football, doing jigsaw puzzles, working in the yard and traveling with his wife of 48 years, Peggy. One of their favorite destinations was Alaska. Where they visited on more than one occasion. As a Father, Bob spent time with his young children on family vacations in the White Mountains, attending recitals, ballgames and their school milestones.
