Robert Randolph Frame, 80, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away peacefully in the night on August 6, 2026, at Northside Hospital.

He was born December 2, 1945, in Wheeling, West Virginia, to Robert John Frame and Mary Hudacek Frame. He grew up in an athletic family and was the starting quarterback for his high school football team, with plans to play in college until a severe ankle injury incurred during his preparatory year ended that dream. His love of sports never left him though.

On March 1, 1965, he married the true north of his life Judy Coleman Frame in Cumberland, Maryland. Almost immediately following their vows, the young couple moved south to Hialeah, Florida. They would stay in Hialeah for 58 years and it’s where they built their life together, one that was focused on family. After retiring, they moved to Atlanta in 2023 to be closer to their daughter and many grandchildren.

Robert began working in the airline industry at 19, first with National Airlines and later with Pan American World Airways, spending 30 years in the business before changing course and becoming a teacher. He taught for 21 years with the Dade County Public School System, and it was in the shop classroom that he was most at home. He had a natural understanding of how things worked and how to fix them when they broke. He took real pleasure in passing that knowledge on to his students.

The athlete in him found its fullest expression in his children. All three played sports through high school, and Robert was there for every bit of it — coaching both of his sons in football and baseball, and showing them by example how hard work, a competitive spirit, and good sportsmanship can add up to a good life!

Above all, he was a devoted and loving husband and father. The size and closeness of his family stand as a reflection of his loyalty and devotion to them.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters, Mary Roberta Frame and Linda Frame; and his brother, John Bruce Frame.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Judy Coleman Frame; his daughter, Judy Frame-Squires (Rod); his sons, Robert Frame (Julie) and Randolph Frame; his sister, Eileen Frame; his brother, Richard Frame; his eight grandchildren, Michael Gann, Mindy Gann, Mitchell Gann, Robert Frame, Tyden Frame, Kasen Frame, Riley Frame, and

Kaitlyn Frame; and his seven great-grandchildren, Adeline Gann, Nora Gann, Colton Gann, Bella Gann, Jude Salinas, Giavanna Gann, and Olive Gann.
