Robert Gaines Thompson

Robert Gaines Thompson, 86, of Dahlonega passed away Monday, November 17, 2025. Robert enjoyed sitting on the river fishing and loved his church family at Antioch Baptist Church, as well as his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Jeannie; parents, Henry and Emily Thompson; and his brother, Don Thompson.

Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Hollie and Jeremy Biddy, and grandchildren, Kaitlin and Jamie Cobb, Brittany and Ryan Johnson, R.J. Biddy; great-grandchildren, Charlee Cobb, Cooper Johnson, and Emma Kate Johnson; and adopted grandchildren, Nyckolas Crumbley, Samantha Crumbley, and adopted great-grandchildren, Lily Beth and Maggie Crumbley.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, November 19, at 2:00 p.m. at Antioch Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Biddy and Rev. Travis Bridgeman officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m.
