Rod and Barbara were members of Briarlake Baptist Church in Tucker, Georgia for twenty years before moving to Peachtree Corners in 1982, when they joined Perimeter Church. In 1998, they relocated to Big Canoe, Georgia, where they lived for twelve years and were very involved in the Big Canoe community. Rod was the President of the Big Canoe Property Owners Association and volunteered with a variety of community organizations. Barbara and Rod eventually moved back to the Cumming/Alpharetta area to be closer to family and were glad to rejoin Perimeter Church.
In addition to his incredible commitment to family, Rod was passionate about tennis for his entire life. He played on the Georgia Tech tennis team, and was one of the top players in Atlanta and Big Canoe for many years.
Finally, Rod was one of the first residents at Village Park Senior Living in Alpharetta, where he lived for the past five years. The family is grateful for the friends he met for breakfast each morning, and the caregivers who patiently helped him, joked with him, and befriended him.
The family appreciates your prayers and will be honoring Rod at a graveside service in Big Canoe.
