Ruphard Hugh Martin, Sr

Ruphard Hugh Martin, Sr. age 67 of Forsyth County, passed away Monday, May 28, 2012. He was a member of Silver Shoals Baptist Church. He loved NASCAR and racing cars. He has raced all over the state of Georgia. He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Lucille Martin; brother and sister, Phillip and Phyllis Martin. Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Montine Martin of Forsyth County; children, Melinda (Ralph) Holland of Forsyth County, Ruphard H. (Carol) Martin, Jr. of Gainesville, Jeffery Martin of Tallahassee, FL, Douglas Martin of Forsyth County; sisters, Shirley Witherow and Lula Bell Bridges; grandchildren, Mindy Jeffords, Crystal Ekstrom, Cammie Ekstrom, T. J. McDonald, Christy Martin, Casey Martin, Ryan McDonald, Matthew McDonald, Tyler Martin, Kyle Martin, Daniel Martin, Leslie Martin; great grandchildren, Nolan Jeffords, Braxton Bryant; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives also survive. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 31st at 2:00 pm at Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Ruel Martin and Rev. J. W. Day officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Ingram Funeral Home on Tuesday from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Wednesday from 9:00 am until 9:00 pm and Thursday from 9:00 am until time of service.
