Sandra Lea Grimes

Sandra Lea Grimes (Hatcher), age 83, passed away peacefully on June 13, 2026, in Cumming, Georgia. Born on July 7, 1942, in Charlotte, North Carolina. Sandra dedicated 41 years of her career as a Deployment Agent for an oil company, where her hard work, commitment, and strong character earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike. Above all else, Sandra loved the Lord. Her faith was the foundation of her life and was evident in the way she treated others—with compassion, grace, and an open heart. She found great joy singing in her church choir and praising God through music, a passion that remained close to her heart throughout her life. Anyone who knew Sandra knew she was truly a "character." She had a wonderful sense of humor and was always joking, teasing, and finding ways to make others laugh. Her vibrant personality could brighten any room, and her joyful spirit left a lasting impression on everyone she met. She loved deeply and wholeheartedly, giving everything she had to her family, friends, and those fortunate enough to cross her path. Her kindness, generosity, and genuine care for others will never be forgotten. 

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 50 years, John W. Grimes; her mother, Juanita Short; and her father, John Robert Hatcher Sr. 

She is survived by her brother, John Robert Hatcher Jr., along with many extended family members, cherished friends, and fellow church members who will forever treasure the memories they shared with her. While those close to Sandra grieve her loss, they find comfort in knowing that she is now in the presence of her Savior, reunited with her beloved husband and those who went before her. Her legacy of faith, Love, laughter, and unwavering kindness will continue to live on in the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved her.
