Sara "Diane" Bennett

Sara “Diane” Bennett, beloved wife, mother, nana, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on May 12, 2025, in Cumming, Georgia, at the age of 78.

Born on March 22, 1947, in Cumming, Georgia, Diane was the cherished daughter of the late Edwin Charles Hall and Marie Connie Blackstock. A true Southern soul with a heart full of warmth and laughter, she was a proud native of Forsyth County who never met a stranger.

Diane shared a beautiful life with her husband of 60 years, Charles Bennett, creating a home filled with love, music, and devotion. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Lesia Bennett; mother and father, Marie and Edwin Hall, and her loving mother-in-law, Edith Lingerfelt.

Diane was a huge fan of Elvis Presley, the Atlanta Braves, and she’d cherished her breakfast outings with her beloved “breakfast club.” Her friendships, especially those formed during her 43 years of service with the Board of Education, were a source of joy and camaraderie. Her kind heart extended to all of her animals - none more special than her favorite sheep, Rosie, and eating Cheetos with Sue, their dog.

She is survived by her daughter, Sheila Morris (Sam); her siblings, Darle Hall (Nancy) and Judy Havey (Steve); and her grandchildren: Cody Marshall, Kayla Weber (Cooper), and Kaitlyn Morris; along with several nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Ingram Funeral Home in Cumming, GA, on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, from 3:00–8:00 PM; Thursday, May 15, from 11:00–2:00 PM and 4:00–8:00 PM; and Friday, May 16, from 11:00–1:00 PM. A funeral service celebrating Diane’s life will take place on Friday, May 16, 2025, at 2:00 PM in the chapel at Ingram Funeral Home, with interment to follow at Sawnee View Memorial Gardens.
