Wilbur Stuart Hamrick, 78, a resident of Cumming, Georgia, passed away after a long illness on Saturday, November 7, 2015, at home with his loving wife of 32 years, Helen H. Hamrick, by his side. Born on December 14, 1936 in Mobile, Alabama, Stuart was the son of Oliver Henry Hamrick and Gertrude Meatyard Hamrick. He attended Auburn University and served in the Alabama National Guard. He began his career in auto sales with Hamrick Motor Company in Mobile; and then transferred to the Atlanta metropolitan area where he continued to work in sales before retiring in 2003. Though an understated salesman, he was always quick to remind others that, no matter their profession, everybody is in sales. A true nostalgic, he showed a keen interest in vintage cars, old Western movies, and college football. He had a special gift of making others laugh and always enjoyed a good laugh himself. In addition to his wife, Helen, he is survived by two daughters, Kimberly (Adam) Dash of Belmont, Massachusetts, and Michelle (Daniel) Erling of Dunwoody, Georgia, as well as four grandchildren. He was loved and will be fondly remembered by his family, his brothers and sisters in Christ, and his many friends. A memorial service will be held at Buford church of Christ on Friday, November 13th with visitation at 2:00 p.m. and memorial service at 3:00 p.m. Instead of flowers, donations may be made to Georgia AGAPE.
