Terri Ann McKinlay, 39, of 4825 Haley Farms Drive, Cumming, Georgia passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving children, Lauren and Jonathan, and her husband, Stephen. Born on October 8, 1975 in Bangor, Maine, Terri-Ann was the beloved adopted daughter of John and Pauline Applin of West Bethel, Maine. She was the biological daughter of Darlene Gilman and the late Terry Gulliver of Maine. Terri-Ann graduated from Telstar High School in Bethel Maine and later received a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Maine. She worked for General Electric for 17 years as a Cost Estimator for Steam Turbines. She was a member of the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Cumming. Terri-Ann will always be remembered as a loving and dedicated mother. Jonathan and Lauren fondly recall playing whiffle ball with Mom in the backyard followed by her special Mac-and-Cheese dinner. They loved her smile this recent Mother's Day when they presented her with a card and gifts. Stephen recalls how joyful and fulfilled Terri-Ann was when Jonathan and Lauren came into the world. Stephen will miss her friendship, selflessness and devotion to the family. Terri-Ann was an inspiration to all those around her as she faced her illness each day with unwavering courage and determination. Survivors include her husband of 11 years, Stephen McKinlay, her daughter, Lauren McKinlay, her son, Jonathan McKinlay and step-sons, Christopher McKinlay, Connor McKinlay and Collin McKinlay, her sister, Angie Goode of Maryland, and her Grandmother, Ruth Applin of Maine. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 16, 2015, at 11:00 am at the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, 3140 Pleasant Grove Rd, Cumming, GA 30028 with the Rev. Ted Miller officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Terri-Ann's memory to the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church or the Humane Society of Forsyth County, Cumming, Georgia.
