Thomas (Tom) Maurice Walters

After graduating from Berkmar High School in 1983, Tom began his career at Georgia Systems Operations, where he worked for 35 years. He started in vehicle maintenance, but his dedication and hard work led him to work on complex IT and Telecom systems.

Tom was married to Connie Curran Walters in May 1993 and they were blessed with two children, Emily and Matthew. Tom was a devoted father and coach, always cheering his children on in their sports and beaming with pride at their achievements. Tom loved to watch sports and golfed as much as his physical abilities and time allowed.

Tom enjoyed doting on his many nieces and nephews but gave a little extra attention to his niece Carli and nephew Carter. Each of them are a special blessing to the Walters clan with their extra chromosome 21. He had a special bond with each of them and now you know why the Donation link below is for the Special Olympics of Forsyth County.

Then came the addition of his grandchild, Clara. He watched her weekly and had just returned from a trip to Walt Disney World where they both had the time of their lives.  Tom loved his times at Disney with Emily and Matthew so to go with his granddaughter meant the world to him.    

Tom will be deeply missed by his children, Emily and Matthew, his granddaughter Clara, his brothers Tim, Ted, and Terry, his parents Carl and Judy Walters, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends during visitation on Thursday, April 20, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Ingram Funeral Home, 210 Ingram Ave, Cumming, GA.

A funeral Mass will be held Friday, April 21, 2023, at 2:00 PM at St. Brendan the Navigator Catholic Church, 4633 Shiloh Rd, Cumming, GA 30040. A reception at the church will follow the Mass.
