Troy Ewing

The City of Cumming, Georgia will never be the same! Summits Wayside Tavern may have to close its doors and if you have purchased stock in Jameson you may want to rush to sell that now!

On Sunday, August 10th we lost a wonderful husband, father, brother, son and friend to all. Troy Ewing will always be remembered for his infectious smile and forever optimistic outlook on life. T-Roy never missed an opportunity to bring people together and had a gift for making everyone feel welcomed and loved.

Troy was born at DeKalb General Hospital on November 2, 1966 to Jerrill and Nancy Ewing certainly upsetting his older sister, Tammy, as she would have to share the attention as he had a wide-open disposition from the start. There is a rumor that his “sweet” mom would cry every morning in anticipation of him waking up when he was a toddler. Troy graduated from Stockbridge High School and then attended West Georgia College where he joined the Chi Phi fraternity and found a brotherhood that has remained strong for over 35 years. In 1993 Troy married the love of his life, Angela Harvey, and they built a life together with three beautiful children, Madison, Cole and Cale.

Troy was a man of deep faith and began most mornings reading God’s word before starting his day. Not only was Troy a strong family man, he was a business owner and built many beautiful homes in the North Georgia area. Troy loved being outside and coaching his boys in their sports growing up. He also enjoyed golfing with friends and hunting trips.

Troy was preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Ewing. He is survived by his loving wife Angela, his three children, Madison, Cole and Cale, his father, Jerrill Ewing, his sister and brother-in-law, Tammy and Jay Nix, sisters-in-law Lisa (Darryl) Stiles, Jennifer (Dale) Alford, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Ingram Funeral Home Saturday, August 16, at 1:00 p.m. followed by a service at 2:00 p.m. A gathering to celebrate and toast the life of T-Roy will be held at Summits Wayside Tavern immediately following the service. Light appetizers will be served.
