Venkatesan "Ragu" Raghunathan

Venkatesan “Ragu” Raghunathan passed away on December 13, 2024. He was 76 years old and is survived by his wife Chitra, son Abhishek, daughter-in-law Nicola, grandchildren Tara and Devin, and his brothers Srinivasan and Kumar. He is predeceased by his sister Saraswati Damodaran (who is survived by her children Savita and Satish). He leaves behind many other family and friends who cherish their memories of him. Ragu worked in agriculture and sales in India and in the fireproofing and construction industries in the United States for decades. He was a fan of the Atlanta Falcons, Atlanta Braves, and Georgia Bulldogs. He loved music, trying new cuisines, gardening (he was gifted with “green hands” that could make a desert bloom), and was generous in helping generations of new arrivals ease into life in America. He was especially dedicated to his grandchildren, who cherish their memories of him introducing them to 1980s movies and animal planet documentaries. 

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am Saturday, December 14, 2024 at Ingram Funeral Home. The family will receive friends Saturday, December 14, 2024 starting at 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Ingram Funeral & Crematory, 210 Ingram Avenue, Cumming, GA 30040.
