Violet Dorothy Gravitt

Violet Dorothy Gravitt, age 87, of Cumming, GA, passed away Wednesday, June 30, 2021. She was born in 1933, to the late Truman and Lina Burgess. Violet was a member of Settendown Baptist Church in Cumming, GA. She was an accomplished seamstress and home maker. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband John Willis Gravitt; sister, Bertie Mae Gravitt; daughter-in-law, Debbie Gravitt.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Anthony and Nancy Gravitt, and Bobby and Donna Gravitt; grandchildren, Lecretia and George Scondras, Lori Gravitt, Josh Gravitt, John Paul and Brigitte Gravitt; great grandchildren, Ruthie, John, Preston, Daisy, Charlotte and Claire; sister-in-law, Dorothy Nell Gist; along with many other loving relatives and friends.

A graveside service will be held Friday, July 2, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. at Sawnee View Gardens with Rev. George Scondras and Josh Gravitt officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m.
