The Pink Rose
By Chani Zwibel
What is a life but a passing dream
days golden and dark
moments full and stark
not the tree but the bark,
a collection of flowers in pink and cream
What is a family but people connected,
fighting and loving
sparring and hugging
gardens full of bees buzzing
and a long dusty road intersected
What is a death but a ceasing of poses
a fading away
the end of the day
the garden gone grey
a sunset over all the pink and red roses
