Walter "Sonny" Goodson, Jr.

Walter Sonny Goodson, Jr., 85, of Suwanee went home to be with his Lord and Savior Monday, June 11, 2018. Sonny was a member and usher at Lighthouse Baptist Church in Dawsonville. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Sonny was a very beloved man and will be missed by many.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Martha Porter Goodson; sons, Walter Eugene Buster Goodson of Smyrna, GA, Mark (Cindy) Goodson of Cleveland, TN; step-son, Allen H. (Sheila) Porter of Jasper, GA; step-daughter, Lee Mauer (Robbie) Martin of Alabama; an extra-special granddaughter, Kayla Porter (Kevin) Green and another granddaughter, Amber Goodson; grandsons, Paul (Amanda) Goodson; Jonathan Goodson, Tyler Mauer, Zane Martin; a wonderful niece, Karen Trent and her family; along with many other friends and relatives.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 13, at 2:00 p.m. at the Ingram Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Charles Blackstock officiating. Interment, with military honors, will be Thursday, June 14, at 11:30 a.m. at Georgia National Cemetery.
