William "Bill" T. Turlington, III

William "Bill" T. Turlington, III was born on February 5th, 1936 in Jacksonville, NC and passed this December 16th, 2020 at the age of 84 in Cumming, GA. Bill served his country as a Retired Major from the United States Air Force, having given 20 years in the 82nd Air Command as a Navigator/Bombardier. Following his honorable discharge, Bill had a second career of 20 years with Computer Science Raytheon (CSR) tracking rocket and shuttle launches that were globally launched into space. Upon his second retirement he took it easy in Cape Canaveral, FL enjoying the beach and sun, sharing it with his grandkids every summer as they grew up.

Bill found his role as a natural born caretaker with his daughter's family (Anne) living with them for a time and following them through their many moves across the country. He had a huge impact in the lives of his grandchildren Tommy, Bobby, and Erin as well as those of many dogs and cats. Together with his beloved Sheltie Sparkle (named by his grandchildren) he spent many days as a funding advocate for the Brevard County Dog park off of "I Dream of Jeanie" Blvd. Bill also grew a copious number of spider plants, loved Turner Classic Movies and the History channel. Bills final years were peaceful as he spent many hours watching NCIS and many hours sleeping through NASCAR. He was an amazing father and grandfather and will be sorely missed.

Bill is survived by brother Bobby, his step-daughters, Anne, Cathy, Lee and two sons, William and David. He has nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
