Obituary

Brent Chamlee, a fun loving Husband and Partner of 45 years to Patricia Padgett Chamlee, rolled thru those Pearly White Gates of Heaven on Mon, Aug 10, 2026.

Brent was a Father, Son, Brother and Friend. Born in Chattanooga Tenn, he lived a life full of zest, courage, belief and ‘always had a quick wit comeback’ in any conversation.

Although this year came blowing in with extra health challenges, Brent never gave up. His last few hours were filled just as he wanted … a room full of love, chatter, laughter, compassion, and his feet tapping that footboard to the beat of music from his favorite Rock Bands.

Brent is predeceased by his son, Scott Chamlee, and a large number of immediate family members. He leaves behind not only Patricia but a large host of family and friends.

Brent’s journey through life was marked by his insatiable thirst for knowledge and an unwavering drive to succeed. His teenage and early adult years were spent in Miami Fl, where he earned his GED in 1960 at the encouragement of his Stepfather, who enrolled him in the Program to ensure he received his diploma for a better start on life. This educational foundation was just the beginning for Brent, who eagerly embraced every learning opportunity, particularly during his long and interesting career with Southern Bell/AT&T/Bell South Companies.

From a young age, Brent was industrious and resourceful. At just eleven years old, he worked at the Baseball Stadium, selling cold drinks to fans. His early years were filled with odd jobs, a passion for building and rebuilding model cars, and a love for both motorcycles and cars that would stay with him throughout his life. As a teenager, he and a friend pooled their weekly lunch money to fuel a '39 Plymouth for Friday night cruising.

Brent's dedication to provide for his Son, Scott, was evident as he worked 2 jobs for many years. He quickly realized the importance of stable employment and worked tirelessly at McArthur Dairy, alongside his uncle, as well as being a Baggage Handler at the Miami Int’l Airport with his stepfather. He soon challenged himself for better opportunities as he began his career with Miami Southern Bell which eventually took him to Illinois and back to Miami before settling in Atlanta in the mid ‘70’s, with Southern Bell/AT&T/Bell South, retiring after 33 years.

Brent's love for automobiles and motorcycles was a lifelong passion … he was sent to the Principle’s office at 9 yrs old as he continually disguised his Hot Rod Magazine in his school book during Class. He traded cars often in his adult years … his collection along the way included Mustangs, Corvettes, Ford Torino, Customized Vans, Custom Trucks, Trans Ams, Datsun 260 & 280Zs, and finally finding the ‘one’ Street Rod that he treasured … his 1934 Pearl White Chevy Coupe. As his passion for cars grew, so did his adventurous spirit to travel on his Motorcycles .. buying his first Harley-Davidson Softail Custom in Wenatchee Wa, where he and Patricia took a 5200 mi ‘ride of a lifetime’ back to Georgia. This became almost a staple of numerous 3,000 to 6600 mile trips across Country for Brent, rolling those backroads alone, with his wife or a friend or two. His mechanical skills were legendary; he once completely disassembled his wife's Softail Springer Harley and rebuilt it, replacing every piece possible with chrome(and he kept it shining too). While there seemed to be nothing he couldn't do, he humorously discovered that wood chopping was not his forte, as Patricia's father quickly reclaimed the axe.

Brent was a lifetime member of the National Street Rod Association (NSRA), Harley Owners Group (HOG), a USS Alabama Associate Member, and a Member of the Sawnee Electric CATF, along with others. His hobbies and interests spanned a wide array of areas …. street rods, motorcycles, classic cars, exotics, mowing his many acres of grass, chauffeur for his wife’s many adventures … all reflecting on his adventurous spirit and zest for life.

Brent is celebrated for causing constant laughs among family and friends, his quick wit, generosity, ability to retain vast amounts of information (shared in his ‘never ending’ stories) and, just the ‘coolest’ Uncle/Great Uncle ever. He loved family gatherings at the Chamlee Barn or gathering with family/friends at local Restaurants, assisting Patricia with Car Shows/Cruz Ins, and planning his many trips via truck or m/cycle across country to Oregon, meeting up with his Brother, Wayne Ross (adopted by choice). Brent was always ready to lend a helping hand or offer advice to others. His ‘bigger than life’ personality and warm heart left an indelible mark on everyone he encountered.

A service to honor Brent will be held on Sat, August 22, 2026, at 4:30 PM at Ingram Funeral Home, located at 210 Ingram Way, Cumming Ga. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time at 4:30 PM. We encourage you to stop by with your Sweeet Rides / Motorcycles.

In lieu of blooming flowers and in memory of Brent and their Great Niece, (Sydney Ridings), Patricia kindly requests a green plant or your donation can be made to the Rally Foundation (Childhood Cancer Foundation), 5775 Glenridge Dr, Bldg B, Suite 370 Atlanta, GA 30328.

She also wishes to thank everyone who reached out over the past few months, offering help, love, meals, hugs, assistance with property needs, compassion, conversations of memories with Brent, the many, many uplifting calls / fbook posts and, in general, vast amount of kindness shown … it is truly appreciated. Brent and Patricia were known for their love of conversation and connection with the young and the older generation .. that love is coming back each day helping her face this new life. Filled with gratitude, Patricia thanks each and every one of you. Hugs & Love to all.
