William Herbert "Billy" Waters passed into glory August 14, 2026. Billy was born May 13, 1944 to the late Luther and Delsie Waters. Billy attended Forsyth County High School where he was the first 4 year, 4 sport letterman at Forsyth County High School, excelling in Football, Basketball, Baseball, and Track and Field, and was inducted into the Forsyth Central Alumni Association Hall of Fame in 2023. He married his high school sweetheart, Joan Corn in 1966. He later opened a successful insurance agency, was a member of the Forsyth County Park and Recreation Board and the Forsyth County Board of Education. Billy was a generous and beloved father, grandfather, and coach and will be missed by all.
In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Louise Bellamy, Hazel Francis, Barbara Sue Sosebee, Roy Waters, Leon Waters, and Edwin Waters. He was also preceded by his Father and Mother-in-law, Weldon and Dean Corn. He is survived by is daughter and son-in-law, Dana and Jeff McBrayer, son, Chad Waters. Grandchildren, Lindsey Pruitt and her husband Brandon, and Tyler McBrayer, great grandchildren Austin, Liam, and Elanor Joan.
Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
The family would like to extend sincere thanks to his Caretakers, Denise Baker, Ashleigh Reid, Melissa Bradley, along with Celesta Dixon and Almy Gaye with Agape Hospice.
Funeral services will be held Monday, August 17, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ingram Funeral Home, Cumming, Georgia with Rev. Danny Bennett and Rev. Gary Martin officiating. Interment will follow in Sawnee View Gardens.
The family will receive family and friends Sunday, August 16, 2026 from 2:00 pm to 6:00 pm and Monday, August 17, 2026 from 9:00 am to the time of service.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Coal Mountain Baptist Church or the Alzheimer's Association .
