William Dewey Ward Jr., age 86, of Georgia, was born on July 19, 1939, in Newnan, Georgia, and entered eternal rest on January 25, 2026.

He was the second child of the late Dewey and Mildred Ward and preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Julia Ann Ward, and his sisters, Patricia Taylor and Susan Scott. Dewey was previously married to Glenda Jo Ward Hester, Mary Frances Black Jackson Ward Hornsby, and Lesa Moseley Ward, all preceded in death.

He is survived by his son, Richard Bryan Ward (Frankie), his two grandchildren, Melissa B. Roberts (Dustin) of Clermont, Georgia, and Mason P. Ward (Terra) of Lula, Georgia, three great-grandchildren, Hailey Roberts, Ryleigh Roberts and Beau Ward, who all brought him immense joy during the past year as he cherished meaningful time spent with them, and nieces and nephews.

A loving father and proud grandfather, William was known for his strong devotion to family and his unwavering work ethic. He enjoyed a long and successful career in commercial real estate throughout North Georgia. In addition, he previously played a significant role for many years in overseeing business operations for The Old Hickory House restaurant chain in Atlanta, where he earned respect for his dedication and business acumen.

A memorial service to honor the life of William Dewey Ward Jr. will be held February 6, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Ingram’s Funeral Home in Cumming, Georgia.

Dewey will be remembered for his commitment to his family, his integrity, and the legacy he leaves behind.
