Zachary "Zach" Ryan Smith

On the evening of Wednesday, November 26, 2025, our beloved Zachary “Zach” Smith passed away suddenly following a massive heart attack at the age of 47. For six years, Zach had quietly carried the weight of congestive heart failure, meeting every challenge with the same gentle humor and quiet courage that touched everyone who knew him.

Zach was simply one of a kind. He lit up every room without ever trying, loved deeply and without reservation, and possessed a quick wit that could turn the hardest days into moments of laughter. Whether he was sharing a joke, working on one of his endless creative projects, or just being present with the people he cherished, Zach made life better for everyone around him. A skilled HVAC technician, he worked on and off for many years at Accurate Services, where his coworkers were family.

Zach is survived by his mother, Cindi Yarbrough; his son, Cain Smith; his brother, Rodney Smith Jr. and wife Heather; his sisters, Beth Mullins and Mindy Hankins (Jeff Plympton); his nephews, Ethan Hankins and Tyler Mullins; along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and a large circle of very close friends who were truly family to him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rodney Smith; his step-father, Bruce Yarbrough; and his grandparents, Don and Mary Pope and Jack and Teena Smith.

Though his time with us was far too short, we find peace knowing Zach is now resting in the arms of Jesus, free from pain and reunited with those who went before him. His kindness, his laughter, and his enormous heart will live on in all of us forever.

Rest easy, Zach. You were loved beyond words, and you always will be.
