Earl "Franklin" Walker

January 10, 1947 - July 04, 2020

Earl "Franklin" Walker, 73 years old, died on July 4, 2020 at his place of residence in Cumming, Ga.

Franklin was born in Moultrie, Ga January 10, 1947, the son of Earl B. and Rosa Lee Walker. His father died the year of his birth and he was raised by his mom and step-father, Ollie Louie Lewis.

"Frank" was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Alvin Lewis. He is survived by his sister Elaine Gay, Joyce Maples, sister-in-law Martha Lewis, the mother of his children Joyce Walker. Frank had two children Steven and Katrina and he has four grandchildren.

Frank attended Moultrie High School where he played football for the Moultrie Packers. After high school he was drafted by the U.S. Army and served in Vietnam.

Upon returning home, Frank worked primarily as a H.R. executive in the global construction industry, mostly with Fluor Daniel. He loved his work and the friends he made there and the opportunities for travel that it afforded him.

Frank retired in Woodstock, Ga near his family where he enjoyed watching football and golf, cooking and hosting family gatherings, and enjoying the good life.

He battled Parkinson's Disease with the same zeal that he lived. He never gave up and never took "No" for an answer. He was as tough as nails and died as he lived - on his own terms.

Due to COVID concerns, a private funeral was held on July 20, 2020. A link to the memorial and ceremony can be viewed on the following link:
